• Contact details — phone number (used for coordination, not for login)
• Profile information — for caregivers: bio, location, daily rate, skills, years of experience, and availability; for care seekers: patient name, age, and medical conditions
• Care data — care activities, task completions, vitals logs, and care request listings
• Usage data — pages visited and actions taken within the platform (for improving the service)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To match care seekers with suitable caregivers
• To display caregiver profiles in the marketplace
• To power the Care Bot (queries are sent to DeepSeek's API)
• To send important service notifications
• To improve platform features and performance

3. Care Bot & Third-Party Services

The Carer-Sync Care Bot is powered by DeepSeek. When you send a message to the Care Bot, your message content is transmitted to DeepSeek's API to generate a response. Please avoid including sensitive personal health information (such as full names, ID numbers, or specific medications) in Care Bot messages.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — secure cloud database and authentication (data stored in secure servers)
• Vercel — platform hosting and delivery
• DeepSeek — Care Bot responses

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which employs industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access to your data is controlled through Row Level Security (RLS) — meaning each user can only access their own data.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Health Information

Carer-Sync handles patient health information (conditions, vitals, care plans) on behalf of care seekers. This information is only accessible to the seeker who entered it and their assigned caregiver. We treat this information with the highest level of care and confidentiality.

6. Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct — update inaccurate or incomplete information via your profile settings
• Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object — opt out of non-essential data processing
• Portability — request your data in a portable format

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Carer-Sync is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
